These Terms of Service govern your use of the Better Food Safety platform operated from betterfoodsafety.co.uk. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to enter into this agreement.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
Each kitchen should maintain its own account; you are responsible for users you invite to your workspace.

The service

Better Food Safety provides digital tools for recording and managing food safety and compliance information, including goods-in traceability, temperature monitoring, cleaning, allergens, COSHH, HACCP, calibration, pest control and audit reporting.

Subscriptions and billing

A 30-day free trial is available to new customers. No payment is taken during the trial.
After the trial, the service is billed at £19.99 per month.
Payments are processed by our payment provider. By subscribing you authorise us to charge the recurring fee until you cancel.
You may cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future billing; there are no refunds for partial billing periods.
We may change our fees with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the records you enter into the platform.
You must use the service lawfully and not misuse, disrupt or attempt to reverse-engineer the platform.
The platform is a record-keeping tool. Maintaining food safety compliance with UK law remains your responsibility.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of UK food safety law.
Upload content that is harmful, unlawful or infringes the rights of others.
Attempt to access data you are not authorised to view.
Interfere with the security or operation of the platform.

Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the platform, its design and software. You retain all rights in the compliance records and documents you upload. You grant us a limited licence to host and process your data solely to provide the service to you.

Data and backups

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but we strongly recommend you regularly export your records using the in-app PDF reports. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of important compliance documentation.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, data or business, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid in the 12 months before the claim.

No professional advice

The platform helps you record and organise food safety information but does not constitute legal or professional food safety advice. You should consult qualified professionals where appropriate and remain responsible for meeting your legal obligations.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, use the service unlawfully, or if required to protect the platform or other users. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes and update the "last updated" date above. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
